The carpets in your business or home represent a significant
investment or possible future expense if needing replacement
for your family or buisness. To protect that investment and
extend the life of your carpet you should have your carpets
professionally cleaned at least once every 6-12 months. We have
some commercial accounts that we clean every 2 weeks because
of high foot traffic, tenants spilling food and beverages, and
the building owners like to keep their buildings looking good.
You cannot harm the carpet by cleaning it too often unless of
course the person cleaning it is not properly trained and makes
mistakes like over wetting it, using too much detergent, using
the wrong solution etc… There are many things that an
untrained or wrongly trained person can do to make your carpets
wear out or 'Dull out' prematurely.Carpets are exposed to dirt,
pollen & other allergens, cigarette smoke & odors, mold,
fungus, pet hair, pet stains, dropped food and spilled drinks
etc… Your carpets can even look clean and still be a
breeding ground for germs, bacteria and microorganisms. Allow
Steam Works expert cleaners to restore the look,
feel and hygiene of your carpets. Keeping your carpet clean
also has the benefit of prolonging its beauty and life. Did
you know that walking on a carpet when it is soiled causes much
more wear and tear to the fibers than walking on it when it
is clean? The reasons are that you are working the dirt farther
into the carpet and the dirt acts as sandpaper rubbing on the
carpet fibers as they are being walked on, the results are "dulled
out" carpet after awhile.
You should also get carpet protectant (i.e., Stain Shield, Scotch
Guard, Teflon etc…) applied to your carpets. Applying these products
makes the carpet easier to keep clean and they make the carpet
resistant to many types of stains or spills that would otherwise
become permanent.
It may have been said many times but it's still true - appearances
are important. What do you think when you walk into someone's
home, office or restaurant where the carpets are overdue for
cleaning? Use our service to maintain the beauty and extend
the usefulness and life of your carpets, we have made it easy
and affordable to do.
Cordially yours,
Steam Works
Caring for your Carpet
While vacuuming is sufficient
to remove most dry soil, the oily soil which comes from
cooking vapors and air pollution, tracked-in dirt from
outside presents a different type of problem. The particles
of oily soil deposited on carpet fibers can cause gradual
but significant dulling of delicate pastel colors; the
color isn't lost but is hidden under the film. If this
type of soil is allowed to accumulate, it literally glues
the pile fibers together and begins to attract and hold
the dry soil. This is the reason that cleaning is so important
when dulling of color is first noticed; if allowed to
remain too long, it becomes gummy and difficult to remove.
If carpet is cleaned before it becomes too unsightly,
the cleaning chore will be easier and more successful.
It is a myth that cleaning the carpet before it is absolutely
necessary will cause it to get dirty faster. However,
choice of the proper cleaning system is important, in
that some systems may leave residues which promote resoiling
and defeat the whole purpose of cleaning.
Our process consists of spraying, under pressure, a solution of 200 degree
hot water and liquid detergent in to the carpet
and recovering the water and soil with a powerful
vacuum into a holding tank. This can be done
from our truck
mounted unit outside the home
with only the hose and power wand brought inside,
or where a truck mounted unit cannot reach, by a portable,
self contained system brought into your home or business. |

Upholstery Cleaning
Upholstery Cleaning is another of the many
services that Steam Works can provide to its
family of customers. It is an integral part in our complete
home cleaning program. Upholstery cleaning is a major component
in total quality of your indoor air.
The first step in the cleaning process is to
identify the fiber content in your upholstery. Fiber identification
is extremely important. This is called the pre-inspection.
Fiber content will determine the cleaning process. Most upholstery
can be easily wet cleaned with almost no damage or fiber degradation
whatsoever. The fear of upholstery getting over-wet usually
caused by unfavorable experiences, due to poor craftsmanship
rather than the cleaning process. The operator of the equipment
is the person who will determine the destiny of your cleaning
results. In other words choosing a quality organization is
crucial.
Our cleaning process will include the pre-inspection, cleaning
and speed drying. With the use of our truck mounted cleaning system your upholstery will be cleaned
and near dry.
